Simply known as Wizkid, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun is one of Nigeria’s finest acts in the music industry. Wizkid is one of the richest artistes in Nigeria and no wonder he now sees himself as “Baba Nla” rather than a young 26years old man.
As one of the richest musicians, it might interest us to check out some of the sources wherewith Wizkid makes his income and verify their level of genuineness. Let’s go on.
Wizkid is the Chairman and CEO of the “StarBoy” music record label; a label which is in partnership with “Disturbing” London, and hosts the likes of Maleek Berry, LAX, and Mutayo Flif.
He started the record label in 2013, after a dispute with his former boss, Banky W. Wizkid makes money from the booking of his artistes, singles release and album sale (although he’s still the only one to have released an album under the record label).
In endorsements, Wizkid has gone far. He is the only male ambassador in Nigeria for giant soft drink brand Pepsi. According to reports, the deal made Wizkid Just N70Million richer and his partner is the OgaMadam herself Tiwa Savage.
When Wizkid signed a deal with MTN for N40Million, they must have thought he was in for the long term but with no significant improvement on the table when it was time for renewal, GLO didn’t waste time to pounce waving an endorsement deal in the excess of N100million to the superstar.
Also in 2013, Guinness came knocking with an endorsement deal in the region of N100Million for Wizkid which he signed and became a brand ambassador. Wizkid’s other income means is his bookings. Wizkid charges N2M – N4M per show for bookings and charges N30k – N400k per show for organized events and concerts.
Wizkid who is sometimes referred to, as the Justin Beiber of Africa is rumoured to have a filling station in Victoria Island, Lagos; although for unknown reasons, he refused to confirm or deny the report.
Wizkid currently has a net worth that stands at $12 Million.
